I am so excited. At last Save the Child has a book cover and it is gorgeous. A picture is worth a thousand words – and this one says it all. Soon the novel will be ready for distribution.
Abby makes her sister Sharon a purple elephant for a Christmas present. She uses her favorite fleece blanket. I searched high and low, on-line and in stores but couldn’t find an elephant that looked like the one I envisioned. So I went to a fabric store, perused the various kinds of fleece, searched for the perfect pattern, bought all the notions and then went home and created the elephant that has been living in my head. Elsie came to life on the page and after an exclusive photo shoot she has a very prominent spot on the front cover.
Abby poured love into making this special gift for her little sister long before she became ill with cancer. But now that Sharon is in the hospital she doesn’t want to be without Elsie as she gives her soft warm comfort in a lonely scary place.

Great cover and I love the story about the labor of love that went into it! Congrats, Margaret, on being one step closer to actually having books in hand! I can’t wait to have one in my hands too!
